Researching information on the internet, hand coding, program/script hacking, implementation and testing takes considerable time. Making it more complex, search results change over time, sites come and go, and various technologies and products change with updates. Retaining the information for easy access and reference became necessity. So, MicroSwamp.com was created as an archive of technical notes for my own use. The information I've recorded is shared here in the spirit of Open Source.

My name is Rick Myers. It's good to meet ya! Here's some stuff about me...
- Needless-to-say, I'm the owner and webmaster of this site and several other Internet swamps.
- I was born in 1961. Yep, I'm gettin' old.
- I've been in the electronics industry since 1979. That's 30 years - I'm definitely gettin' old.
- I currently work as a systems administrator/developer on primarily Internet servers and websites.
- I've been married to my soul-mate since 1980. By today's standards, that's a very long time.

On the Topic of Data Recovery... |
|
I spent more than 15 years in the data recovery business. From 1988 to 2003 I was recovering data from hard drives, CD's, other opticals, RAID, SAN and NAS systems full time. From 2003 to 2007 I just dabbled in the business while earning a living implementing web technologies. Most of the data recoveries were on DOS and Windows, but I did a significant number of Netware, Unix and Linux recoveries too. I've been out of the business for a long time, considering technology changes, and I occasionally do something related. When I do, I'll generally write an article about it and post it in the Tech Notes section under Data Recovery. My hope is that someone will find them useful enough to recover their own data without having to pay the high prices I used to charge. |
